I was 24 years old and had hit the highest weight I had ever seen on the scale. I was a recent college graduate, newly married, and building my career. I grew up figure skating and cheerleading and was never into “team sports”. I never liked exercising or pushing myself to do anything remotely difficult fitness wise. But after seeing that number on the scale I had my “That’s it!” moment and decided to do something about it.
After looking into it for a while I decided to sign up for an unlimited month of boot camps at the Fitness Asylum. I took one class, got addicted, and never looked back! I took as many boot camps as I could, completed the Summer Beach Body Challenge during the summer of 2016 and lost 20 lbs. over the course of 6 months. I was so proud of my progress but knew I could do better.
I signed up for the Bikini Challenge nervous as ever in the winter of 2017. I was ready to take the challenge head on. What I didn’t expect was how much this program would humble me. I pushed my mind and body to the most extreme point that I ever have. I ended up losing another 20 lbs. during this challenge and went down 4 dress sizes. At our competition, I placed 2nd in my class for the FA division.
I made the best friendships with so many like-minded women, gained confidence and poise, and learned the science of how food affects and helps my body.
I am so very proud of myself and all that I have accomplished. I am in the best shape of my life and I don’t plan to stop here!
