I have always been active, lifting weights and playing sports, so I never really paid attention to the scale and got away with eating a lot of food. I took it for granted. This all changed this spring and summer when my son was involved in a serious accident. I went from very active to completely sedentary. But kept on eating huge amounts of food, including some unhealthy comfort foods. In a couple months time I was up 25 pounds. I couldn’t keep up with friends on bike rides and I felt terrible playing hockey. I knew I had to do something to stop this downward fitness and health trend.
Right around this time Fitness Asylum was advertising the Bikini Challenge. I had thought about doing the bikini challenge a couple of previous times it was offered but was too scared and doubted I had what it took to do it. This time I decided to do it and I was in the worst shape of my life! I knew that if I followed Bonnie’s plan it would be the most direct path to getting back in shape and eating healthier. And it worked big time. I lost the 25 pounds, lost lots of inches of fat, and added a lot of muscle. I was able to enjoy hockey and biking again. And I conquered my fear of getting up on a stage.
While losing weight and getting in shape were awesome outcomes of this program, I think the best part of the experience at Fitness Asylum are the people I met, the support everyone gives each other, the awesome instructors, and Bonnie’s fool-proof plan. It doesn’t matter where you are in your fitness journey, whether you are a scared newbie or a veteran getting ready to compete in a competition, everyone makes you feel welcome.
