My wake up call came last November, when I went in for my yearly physical and blood work. My Physician looked at me and said “you are considered obese, you are borderline diabetic and if your cholesterol doesn’t come down you are going to have to go on cholesterol meds”. What??? It really hit me, wow I have to do something…….I’m not even 40……I have a lot of life left to live. Some friends had been talking to me about Fitness Asylum so I went home, looked it up online and went the next week to my very first class. I was nervous but knew I had to make a change. My first class was awesome……everyone was so friendly, there was so much positive energy and the workout was fun……I knew I found my new “workout home”.

I met so many amazing people at the Asylum who told me their body transformation stories and how the body challenge was a “must” so on January 12th I started my first 12 week body challenge. The challenge was so much fun!!! I met women who I instantly felt “connected” to, we were all on the same journey together. Our goals may have been different but getting there was the same and the support was tremendous. 12 weeks later, I was down 20 pounds and my cholesterol and fasting blood sugar were back within normal range. I have made it half way to my final goal and the best part is I’ve met lifelong friends along the way and had fun doing it. I really can’t say enough about this program…’s changed the way I think about food and eating and the support along the way is amazing. I’m starting the Spring Challenge next week and can’t wait to reach my final goal this challenge!!!
