I just want to start by saying thank you. Your program works!! I have been working extremely hard and I feel great!
A big thank you to my support team at home (Traci), and to my team captain (Alicia) and to Team Perry, as without them I don’t think I would have had half the success that I did.
The reason I joined the Fitness Asylum Body Challenge was a wake up call I got from a photo. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well in this case it was definitely true.
The photo was from a wedding in September of 2015. I was shocked when I saw it. I didn’t even recognize the people in the photo. They looked happy enough, but my first reaction was “Who are these fat people?” Then my next question was “How did I let this happen?” I hung this photo on the fridge and it is something I look at every time I open the door. It reminds me of the consequences that can happen when making poor choices. It was just the slap in the face that I needed to choose a healthier lifestyle and become the best me I can possibly be. After all, I am worth it!
My “Why” is easy. It’s my family. My girls – I have two teenage daughters and their happiness means everything to me. I have to be and want to be how all other males are judged. So, sorry boys, that means setting that bar high! (Bring your A Game!). My son – we had him later in life, so getting in better shape so I can play with him and be involved with everything he does was and is extremely important to me. I don’t want to miss anything. And finally, for my beautiful wife, my biggest inspiration, my muse… I want to look good NAKED. ?
I have met and exceeded my initial goals through nutrition. I didn’t participate in boot camps or specialty classes. Outside of taking the dog for a walk a couple times a week, I didn’t really do anything. Not for fear of working out, but because when I do work out, I tend to get “jacked” ?. And although weight is just a number, my objective with this challenge was to lose weight. So, I read (more than once) and followed the packet. I tracked everything – good and bad, stayed disciplined, held myself accountable and committed to the program. I have gone from a snug size 44 pants size down to a size 38 with room to spare. Incredible!
