When they say a picture speaks a thousand words, I feel like mine could write a book.
I live and work in town and not much happens in the 01505.
I was used to my routine… work, errands, Sports, friends, eating and drinking…mostly drinking. My father had previously passed away and I was not dealing with my loss in any positive way. My dads passing was the first person I had ever lost and I was devastated.
I needed to make a change, so when Fitness Asylum opened on rt 140 in Boylston, I figured I could try it before I went to the pub!
Long story short.. body challenges, bikini seasons, spartan races and meeting the greatest group of bad ass strong women I consider my friends has challenged and changed my life for the better.
4 years ago I was 46 years old… 148 pounds is what I stepped on the scale my first challenge. I can proudly say in the past 4 1/2 years I have maintained a weight of 115-117
My last bikini challenge brought me in at 103.5… a number that was my smallest ever and just a number.
The biggest lesson I have learned is the maintenance and the balance…it’s not easy by any stretch, but that is the most important part of the challenges… I am fortunate I have a great support system that encourages to keep striving to improve and crazy kids that think their mom has more muscles and is a complete bad ass to get on stage, train, climb walls and do hard things! I can’t thank The Fitness Asylum community enough for making me accountable and always wanting to show up and be the best me I can…. my gratitude to all the trainers, the partners I have in class and to all that want to go out of your comfort zone… you will be amazed at the comfort and strength you will find❤️
