Lyn-Ann King | The Fitness Asylum

Lyn-Ann King

So I am not sure who the girl is on the left or how I became her. Well, I know how I became her but I don’t like to admit it’s me. The outside is not who I am or was on the inside but truth be told the outside did me in, like literally in, as of in the house not wanting to go out with family or friends. I put on 50 pounds in the past couple of years, divorce, depression, thyroid disease, stress, injuries and laziness. I had focused on my three children and lost focus of me. When I saw my Friends Kelli and Ann Marie signing up for the Fitness Asylum, I thought I have to do this with them maybe I will lose a few pounds. I lost a few pounds, 27.4 in 12 weeks….WHAT!! I was shocked to find myself in tenth place at the end of the challenge, GO ME! But it’s not all about the loss it’s about the gain. I have gained knowledge on how to take care of myself and make myself a priority. I have gained a whole new group of friends, a community of people who are there not just for themselves but to support one another. I have FUN at the gym (in between making faces and swearing)! I always thought people who enjoyed the gym were crazy, I am crazy happy to be committed to the Asylum! I gained resources I never would have without this group. The Thyroid struggle is real and so many members have shared their own stories and helped me to know I am not alone, they have been so helpful to share books and advice that have helped tremendously. The instructors are the best! I have 2 bad shoulders and they are right there to modify (while still kicking my ass) to get it done! My coach Kim was beyond amazing, she kept me motivated and held accountable every day, LOVE HER!! Our Owner Bonnie is a BADASS! Her motivational posts, texts and weekly live chats keep you connected, gives you a kick in the ass when needed and empowers you to do better, be better, and live better. This lifestyle change was one I thought okay, I will try it for 12 weeks and see how it goes. This program is a life changer, a life saver! My kids are so proud of me, they even joined the holiday challenge with me! My family and friends are proud too especially my FAmily (Fitness Asylum Family). I am looking forward to the Winter Challenge and losing another 25+ pounds and gaining even more friends and confidence! Look out 2017, this badass is back!

Thank you for creating this amazing program, it is truly changing my life and I am having fun doing it!
