Before and After. January to April. 15 pounds. Just shy of 10% of my body weight.
I’ve done this before. Last June to September, I lost 20 pounds with Weight Watchers. I was able to “eat whatever I want”, like the ads say. Good for me, right?
I lost motivation with the plan, and by December I gained every last pound back.
I restricted calories, but I lost strength and any motivation to exercise. My anxiety was at its peak, and I was so incredibly unhappy, even though on paper I was doing great.
These last 3 months, January to April, capture a major change in my mindset, my strength, and my maturity. I learned that I can work so much harder than I ever thought I could, that I can fall down and get back up pretty easily, and that sometimes a roomful of strangers can be your greatest cheerleaders.
My personal goal during the Winter Body Challenge was not actually to lose weight, but to be active and get stronger.
I PR’ed a 5k. I found new foods and energy through a modified diet, which I will be continuing! I exercised 3x per week, averaging 2x per week at the Fitness Asylum bootcamps. My legs are ROCK SOLID, yo. My abs are poking through again, and honestly I have hardly done any crunches, so I’m pretty thrilled! 😁😁😁
Oh, and I lost 15 pounds while doing all this. 😉
